Amnesty International to release new report on conflict in Somalia

As reports of gross violations by Ethiopian  Woyanne forces in Somalia increase, Amnesty International will release on Tuesday, 6 May at a press conference in Nairobi a major new report revealing the dire human rights and humanitarian crisis facing the Somali people.

The report contains first-hand testimony from dozens of survivors of the conflict that details the violations and abuses they have suffered at the hands of a complex mix of perpetrators – including Ethiopian and Transitional Federal Government troops on the one hand, and non-state armed groups on the other. All parties in Somalia urged to engage in political talks

The International Contact Group on Somalia (ICG) called on Wednesday in Oslo all parties to the conflict in Somalia to engage in political talks, according to reports reaching Stockholm.

All parties must take part in political talks, including the proposed meeting to take place in Djibouti under the auspices of the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG), the ICG reiterated in a communique after one-day meeting in Oslo. Woyanne killing civilian in Baidoa,somalia

Leadership Crisis in Somali Region(posted on galbeed August, 2007)

From the oil fields of Somali Region, to the diamond and copper fields of Gambelas , to the rich mineral deposits of the Great Awash lake region of Afar, to the mountain ranges, plains and tourist havens of  Oromo land, the country of Ethiopia is undoubtedly blessed. However, Meles Zenawi and his ethnic are in control and looting by force. The recent killing of nine Chinese oil drillers illustrated how the Tigrean exploiting the resources of the country without involving the native people frustrated Ethiopian Somalis. Security Council condemns continuing flow of arms to Somalia as it adopts resolution authorizing six-month extension of Monitoring Group’s mandate

Condemning flows of weapons and ammunition supplies to and through Somalia as a serious threat to peace and stability in that country, the Security Council reiterated this morning its intention to consider specific action to improve implementation of and compliance with the arms embargo in Somalia, as it extended for six months the mandate of the group tasked with monitoring those measures. Teddy Afro returns to prison in tears

ADDIS ABABA – The Federal High Court on Tuesday denied bail for the release of Tewodros Kassahun (Teddy Afro). The 30-year-old sensational singer, who is accused of a hit and run homicide, will spend the duration of his trial in prison, according to Addis Fortune newspaper.

Ethiopians in DC held rally demanding freedom for Teddy Afro

Several Ethiopians had gathered in front of the Woyanne-occupied Ethiopian embassy in Washington DC on Monday to demand freedom for Teddy Afro, a popular singer who appears to have been thrown in jail on trumped up charges. The protesters chanted “Free Teddy!” as heavy rain poured down on them.

 The entire world is shocked because of the news and the reports about the Neo-Nazi brutality of Tigray Dictator Zenawi in Mogadishu, which drew the immediate unreserved and explicit condemnation of the Somali Genocide by Amnesty International and Human Right Watch.The woaynne regime can not afford to stay in Somalia economically and politically and are trying to get back to a safe haven

ICU control several towns in somalia from Woyanne, inculding the provincial town of Jawhar

The Islamic Courts Union (ICU) claim they have taken control of several towns in Somalia, including the provincial town of Jawhar. The government in Mogadishu, 90 km to the south, has denied the claims. It is the third time in two months that the ICU have taken over the town.
