Health risks add to crisis in Ethiopia

GENEVA/ADDIS ABABA — Worsening malnutrition and the threat of disease outbreaks are compounding Ethiopia’s humanitarian crisis. WHO is working with the Government of Ethiopia and health partners to support the 4.6 million people needing urgent emergency food relief nationwide.

Fury as Zimbabwe sanctions vetoed

Britain and the US have condemned Russia and China for vetoing a draft UN Security Council resolution to impose sanctions on Zimbabwe’s leaders.

UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband said their veto was incomprehensible, especially as Russia had earlier suggested it backed tougher action.
