Guelleh Sees Eritrean Leaders Paranoid, Frustrated

The recent summit of the African Union (AU) heads of state held at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, condemned what it called Eritrean military action against Djibouti. This follows an Eritrean incursion to Ras Dumera in April 2008, a territory north of Djibouti. Although boycotted by Eritrea, the Summit demanded a complete withdrawal of soldiers by Eritrea from the disputed areas and for a peaceful resolution of the problem. It is another demand from a multilateral organization. The Security Council of the United Nations passed a similar resolution in June.

UN Somalia envoy praises progress on Djibouti Agreement

AIROBI, July 16 (Xinhua)–A top United Nations envoy for Somalia on Wednesday praised the Somali warring parties for working quickly to advance the Djibouti Agreement which was signed last month.

UDJ leaders take a retreat in Sodore

The top leadership of Unity for Democracy and Justice Party (UDJ), including the chairperson, Wzt. Birtukan Mideksa, went to the resort town of Sodore (130km southeast of Addis Ababa) on Monday to relax and also try bring harmony among the different factions of the leadership that are currently at loggerheads.

Ethiopians(Woyanne) target refugees in Somalia

US-backed Ethiopian(Woyanne) troops in Somalia have killed and tortured displaced Somalis living in the refugee camps of the capital, Mogadishu.

At least 10 civilians have been killed and 15 badly beaten as part of a campaign by Ethiopian (Woyanne)troops to root out militants in the Daynille and Bangala refugee camps. More on Ethiopians(Woyanne) target refugees in Somalia
