Ethiopia: TPLF-Controlled Election Board Refuses to Recognize the New Oromo Federalist Congress
The partisan National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has refused to recognize the Oromo Federalist Congress. The Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC) is a coalition that was formed by the Oromo People’s Congress (OPC), led by Dr. Merera Gudina, and the Oromo Federalist Democratic Movement (OFDM), led by Mr. Bulcha Demeksa, in January 2009. Both OPC and OFDM are currently member parties of the newly formed national coalition party – the Forum for Democracy and Dialogue (FDD). According to the press release published at the time of its formation, the move to create the coalition – the Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC) – between OPC and OFDM was: “to work together in the upcoming election. Specifically:
* to organize public meetings together;
* to coordinate our activities in the Oromia Regional Council and at the Federal Parliament as well as stand together in case of challenges at both levels;
* to solicit support both in side the country and abroad and share equally resources mobilized together;
* to coordinate our activities when dealing with other political groups;
* even if, there are only few differences in our political programs agreed to sort out whatever differences we have in the future;
* to compete in the upcoming elections with a common platform and field candidates in common

These narrow minded who still want to live in 1800 century against the advancement human civilization of new 21st century society. It is not OLF, ONLF, AFAR, and others who are destroying Ethiopia; it is the mind set of Hailu Shawel, Prof. Mesfin of Amhara elites, and the Tigre elite. You’re responsible if the war breaks out, and you will be responsible for the consequences about to happen!! If you have not gained knowledge from the past which brought us to this end, then I don’t know how stable your mind is. Why do you want to continue live in-with conflicts? Do you think by crying about unity to advance your interest is a mature way to solve the problems the nations are facing? Why don’t you bring OLF, ONLF, and other to round table to discuss issues and find common ground to solve or answer their questions instead of bickering and blackmailing the intention of opposition group who are fighting for the prospective of their nations? You continued deny historic aspect their struggle because it does oppose to your Amahranization. How clear someone can get than this? Or you want continue in your blindness? I repeat again why do you want to live in conflicts? There will never be any solution without OLF and ONLF and addressing the issues of others interest. The choice is your fellow Ethiopians!!!!!
